Meet Kanata Chiropractor Dr. Pierre Paradis

Looking back, it’s amazing to see how the chiropractic care I received as a teenager would have such a wonderful impact on my life years later.

Kanata Chiropractor, Dr. Pierre ParadisI received my first chiropractic adjustment when I was 14 years old.  I was playing contact hockey at that time and a body check during a game caused a great deal of pain in my back.  As a result, my parents, who themselves were receiving chiropractic care, decided to bring me to their chiropractor, Dr. Kenneth DeHaas.  I’ve always had an interest in health sciences, but ever since my first adjustment, I was drawn to the chiropractic profession.  Dr. DeHaas was great; not only as a chiropractor, but also in guiding me in my decision to become a chiropractor.

I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, USA.  The school came highly recommended not only from Dr. DeHaas, but also from other chiropractors which I had met.  It is the fountainhead of chiropractic.  Palmer has always had a strong focus on the art, science, and philosophy of chiropractic, but looking back on all my studies at Palmer, I realize that the philosophy classes were the most valuable.  The principles that: healing comes from above-down inside-out, and that the power that made the body heals the body, have been life changing.

Through my practice, I hope to serve my community with the best of my abilities, by helping them maximize their lives with chiropractic care and our wellness programs.  In the process, I hope to raise awareness of the goals of our charity, Chiropractors with Compassion, dedicated to funding child-centered projects around the world.

I have a beautiful wife, Nathalie, and daughter, Emmanuelle.  When Nathalie isn’t teaching and when I’m not at the clinic, we are keeping busy these days by enjoying spending time with our daughter, visiting family and friends, spending time outdoors, or just sitting at home cheering for the Ottawa Senators!

My entire family and I get adjusted on a weekly basis.  Along with regular exercise and proper nutrition, these have been the key factors to ensuring our optimal well-being and health.

Dr. Pierre Asks some important questions of interest to Kanata residents - Chiropractor Kanata Dr. Pierre Asks...

How do you "catch" a cold?
Simply lower your resistance by avoiding the proper rest and exercise, eating lots of sugar and junk food, putting up with emotional stress and neglecting your nervous system by avoiding your chiropractor. You won't have to catch a cold because it will catch you!
What's the difference between a "good" drug and a "bad" drug?
As a chiropractor, I see the use of many drugs (legal or illegal) as merely symptom treating. Worse, virtually every drug produces unwanted effects. The effects of chiropractic are largely positive effects. If you're a Kanata parent, consider carefully before giving your child a cough medication, cold remedy or pain reliever so this sort of question doesn't arise in the first place.
