Three Things to Watch For

Hazeldean Family Chiropractic Clinic encourage you on the importance of posture. We here at Hazeldean Family Chiropractic Clinic have encouraged you on the importance of posture.

Posture is the driver of your health. The form of your spine dictates the function of your entire body.

Remember: If those nerves are not functioning at their optimum levels, neither are you.

Today, we wanted to provide you with three signs to watch for as indicators of spinal subluxation. Keep an eye out for these among family and friends.

A forward head is not only a sign of trouble for the neck, but indeed, the entire spine. Is the head jutting forward, or is the chin pointed towards the chest? These problems are prominent among those of us who overuse electronic devices — particularly, smartphones or iPads.
One shoulder higher than the other seems like such a subtle thing. However, this can signal issues with the thoracic spine. There may be a shift or even a slight sideways curvature. Do you have a teen with a heavy bookbag, who’s always prone to slinging it over one shoulder? Watch for this one.

Lower Back Problems

Have you noticed that your kids wear out one shoe faster than the other? Or perhaps, you have a pant cuff that always seem to become frayed? This can be a key sign of a pelvic misalignment, or one leg slightly shorter than the other. Regular chiropractic care can help correct problems with the lower back, and simple additions like a heel insert will make a world of difference.

As chiropractors, we are here to help you achieve your best life through improved spinal health. Unfortunately, we cannot be with you every day to observe the small things that may point to a bigger problem. That’s why being your own spinal health sleuth can go a long way in heading off issues before they get worse. Remember to maintain your adjustment schedule, and in the meantime, keep those eyes peeled!
