Kanata Chiropractor's Fall Health Checklist

Now more than ever is the time to prepare a solid foundation in order to make sure that we stay healthy during the fall, and the dreaded flu season.  An easy way to do this is to get back to the basics.  Here is what I am planning on doing; I recommend that you do the same.

Chiropractic Adjustments: Chiropractic adjustments have been proven to increase the function of the immune system by up to 200%!

Nutrition: Decrease the amount of processed foods you consume.  Minimize your carbohydrate (sugar) intake.  If possible, buy organic (visit for the “Dirty Dozen” List of produce from the Environmental Working Group – for Iphone users, you can download an application where you can find this list and always have it handy).

Supplements: Take a multivitamin, fish oil (omega 3), and vitamin D. (Multiple studies have shown that decreased levels of vitamin D makes you more susceptible to contracting colds, flus, and other respiratory tract infections.)

Exercise: 3x/week (i.e. weight lifting, cardiovascular, P.A.C.E./Burst Training/High Intensity Interval Training). 

Peace Management (Stress Management): Schedule specific times in the week to have “quiet time”.

Sleep:  Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night.  Make sure you go to bed in the same day in which you woke up. (Meaning, before midnight.)
